let the Games begin.

Coming this fall!  A novel for fans of sports stories with heart, high stakes, and hard truths, Brave New Game is a fast-paced tale of loyalty, legacy, and learning to play your own game.

Charlie, a 13-year-old math whiz, longs to be a basketball star like his late father until an on-court brawl and a viral video bring his hoop dreams crashing down. Against impossible odds, he must rebound, using his talent for crunching numbers to put an underdog college team, and himself, on the road to glory.

"Brave New Game is pure gold! As in Charlie Gold, the flawed but lovable character at the heart of this tale. Michalowski takes us inside the game and out, laying out a fast-moving story that reveals that character and honesty still matter, no matter what game you are playing. The next time I fill out my March Madness bracket, I’m going to call Charlie and ask for some tips! This is a great read for basketball fans of all ages."

"A thoroughly engrossing book!"

"Basketball is an art form: part ballet, part chess. In Brave New Game, Michalowski captures not only the art, but the strategy and the heartbreak in the game. This is a basketball story, but its lessons are about life. Players and lovers of the game will relate!"
